Fees
Starting a campaign is free. We do not take a platform cut. Card and wallet donations have a processing fee from the payment provider — you choose whether it comes out of the donation or you cover it on top.
For organizers
Creating and running a campaign costs you nothing. There is no platform fee, no commission, and no charge to publish, pause, or request a payout.
Processing fee on cards and wallets
To accept a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay donation we use Stripe. They charge a processing fee. We publish a single rate — currently 1.5% + €0.25 per payment — so the number you see before paying is the number we apply afterwards. If Stripe charges more (for example a card issued outside the EEA), the Foundation covers the difference.
Cover the fee so the campaign gets the full amount
When you donate by card, you can tick a box so the processing fee is added on top of the amount you chose. If you leave it unticked, you are charged the amount you typed and the campaign or the Fund receives that amount minus the processing fee. Either way, both figures are shown before you pay. Covering the fee is optional. It is not a donation to run the platform — it only reimburses a cost that already exists.
Bank transfers
A bank transfer has no processing fee with us. The amount you send is the amount the campaign or the Fund receives, once we match the payment.
What the public total shows
A campaign's raised amount — the figure on the progress bar — is the sum of the amounts donors chose. It stays a round, readable number. Processing fees that were not covered reduce what the organizer can actually pay out. That split is on your receipt and in the organizer's dashboard.
