Is it free to start a campaign?

Creating and managing a campaign on Kapka Zhivot is not charged. Organizers do not owe a commission for publishing, maintaining, or managing their campaign.

To make donating convenient and accessible, we provide several ways to make a donation:

By bank card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — through a secure online payment system.

By bank transfer — to the bank account of the Kapka Zhivot Foundation. After the transfer arrives, the team confirms it and the amount is credited to the campaign or the Fund.

Regardless of the method you choose, every donation is an important part of the path toward reaching the campaign’s goal.

A processing fee applies to card and wallet donations. Organizers still pay nothing — the donor can cover that fee so the chosen amount reaches the campaign in full. Details and a calculator are on the Fees page.

How do I know a campaign is legitimate?

Trust is a core principle at Kapka Zhivot. That is why every campaign is reviewed before it is published.

The organizer provides the necessary information about the campaign, including its description, goal, and appropriate materials. For campaigns related to treatment or medical expenses, documents confirming the case are required. If needed, the team may request additional information before the campaign is approved.

Every organizer goes through an identification procedure. This allows us to establish who stands behind a given campaign and to take the necessary action if a suspicion or irregularity arises.

Review does not end with publication. We monitor unusual activity, incoming donations, and compliance with the established rules. If needed, we may request additional documents or confirmation of provided information.

If violations are established or there is reasonable suspicion of abuse, the campaign may be temporarily paused or terminated. Depending on the specific case, steps may be taken to return funds to donors.

This multi-level approach helps us create a safer environment for donating and protect both the people who receive help and those who provide it.

Do I need to sign up to donate?

You do not need to create a profile to make a donation. You can donate as a guest by providing an email address, and optionally a name and a personal message to the recipient.

Registration gives you additional options — to track donations you have made, follow selected campaigns, and receive notifications about their news and progress.

Can I donate anonymously?

When making a donation, you can choose how your name is displayed — with a full name, a partial name, or without a name being shown.

Choosing an anonymous donation allows you to support the campaign without your personal name being publicly visible.

What payment methods are supported?

On Kapka Zhivot you can donate by bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer via IBAN.

Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments are processed securely through Stripe — an international payment processor. Your bank card details are not provided to Kapka Zhivot and are not stored by the platform.

After a successful donation, the funds are credited to the selected campaign and paid out to its organizer in accordance with the rules and procedures of Kapka Zhivot.

What currency are donations in?

All donations on Kapka Zhivot are made in euro (EUR). The donation amount and the campaign’s target amount are stated in euro.

How do organizers receive donated funds?

When funds have been collected, the organizer can submit a payout request through the dashboard of the relevant campaign. Each request is reviewed and approved by the Kapka Zhivot team before payment is made.

Funds are paid out only by bank transfer and are not provided in cash. Depending on the specific case, they may be transferred to the beneficiary’s account, directly to a medical facility or supplier, or used to reimburse proven expenses related to the campaign’s purpose.

How does the Fund work?

The general fund of Kapka Zhivot pools donations from people who wish to support campaigns that are short of funds. Anyone can donate to it, regardless of the campaign they have chosen.

Active campaigns that have not reached their goal may apply for funding from the Fund. After review and approval, the designated amount is directed straight to the relevant campaign.

To ensure maximum transparency, information on incoming funds, allocations made, and the Fund’s available balance is publicly accessible.

What if a campaign has already reached its goal?

Reaching the financial goal does not mean the campaign stops accepting donations. If the campaign remains active, additional donations continue to go to the beneficiary and can help with extra costs or needs that arise.

If the campaign is temporarily paused and is not accepting new donations, you can direct your support to the General Fund, through which the funds reach other campaigns that need additional help.

Do I need to activate my account before I can sign in?

After registration you will receive an email with a link to confirm and activate your account. The link is valid for 24 hours.

If it expires, you can request a new link by registering again with the same email address while the account is still not activated, or through the “Forgot password” option. Completing the password recovery procedure also activates the account.

What is required to start a medical campaign?

A medical campaign can be created for a beneficiary from any country, regardless of where in the world the necessary treatment takes place.

To approve the campaign, medical documents must be provided that confirm the beneficiary’s health condition and the need for the relevant treatment. Depending on the specific case, a quote or proforma invoice from the medical facility may also be required when this is needed to determine the target amount.

Kapka Zhivot has a financial and organizational role — the platform does not determine the type, method, or place of treatment. For funding to take place, it must be possible to transfer the funds by bank to the beneficiary, the medical facility, or another appropriate recipient.

What happens to unused funds if the beneficiary dies?

If the beneficiary dies, all eligible and proven expenses related to the campaign’s purpose are settled first.

If unused funds remain after that, they are not allocated to other purposes, but are directed to other active campaigns on Kapka Zhivot that need financial support.

How do I report a campaign I don't trust?

Reports can be submitted through “Report this campaign” or the Help Center.

If you have doubts about the content or legitimacy of a campaign, you can use the “Report this campaign” button available on its page. The report is reviewed by the Kapka Zhivot team, and if needed additional documents or evidence are requested from the organizer. All organizers go through identification, and medical campaigns go through additional review.

If a violation is established, the campaign may be paused or terminated, and the funds returned to donors.

How long does it take to submit a campaign?

Creating a campaign usually takes about 10 minutes if you have the necessary information and materials. In the process you will need to present the campaign’s purpose, the required amount, the story of the case, and suitable photos or documents according to its nature.

After submission, the campaign is reviewed by the Kapka Zhivot team to check the information provided and to ensure the necessary requirements for publication have been met.

Once approved, the campaign is published and you can share it with family, friends, and a wider audience so it can reach more people who are ready to help.
